Ancourage Academy is an MOE-registered tuition centre with branches at Bishan and Woodlands. We provide small-group and personalised lessons for students across Primary, Secondary, and JC levels, with a focus on helping students build confidence, strengthen their foundations, and improve academically through structured teaching and consistent guidance.

About the Role

We are looking for a committed and passionate Full-Time English, General Paper & Multi-Subject Teacher to join our teaching team.

The main teaching focus will be Primary English, Secondary English, and preferably JC General Paper. Candidates who are able to teach additional subjects and/or levels will be highly preferred, as our centre offers a range of academic programmes across Primary, Secondary, and JC levels.

This role is suitable for someone who enjoys teaching, creating lesson materials, working closely with students, and supporting the day-to-day growth of a tuition centre.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English to Primary and Secondary students
• Teach General Paper to JC students, where applicable
• Teach additional subjects and levels based on the candidate’s strengths, experience, and subject knowledge
• Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons according to students’ learning needs and examination requirements
• Prepare worksheets, revision materials, lesson notes, marking guides, and other learning resources
• Mark students’ work and provide clear, constructive feedback
• Track students’ progress and identify areas of weakness
• Conduct trial or diagnostic lessons for new students where required
• Support curriculum planning and development for English, GP, and other suitable subjects
• Communicate professionally with parents on students’ progress when needed
• Support small-group classes and 1-to-1 lessons
• Assist with centre operations, including lesson records, student updates, scheduling support, and basic administrative duties
• Support selected marketing or content-related tasks, such as education tips, programme information, student learning updates, or promotional content
• Teach at both our Bishan and Woodlands centres based on class scheduling
• Work closely with the team to improve lesson quality, student experience, and centre operations

Requirements

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, Education, Communications, Humanities, or a related field
• Strong command of written and spoken English
• Able to teach Primary and Secondary English confidently
• Ability to teach JC General Paper is highly preferred
• Ability to teach additional MOE subjects and/or levels will be a strong advantage
• Candidates who can teach subjects such as Mathematics, Science, Humanities, Chinese, or other academic subjects may be considered favourably
• Familiarity with the Singapore MOE syllabus and examination requirements is an advantage
• Prior teaching, tutoring, or curriculum experience is preferred
• Patient, responsible, and able to build good rapport with students
• Able to explain concepts clearly and adapt teaching methods to different learning abilities
• Comfortable teaching small-group classes and/or 1-to-1 lessons
• Able to work a 5.5-day work week, including weekday evenings and weekends
• Able to travel between both centres: Bishan and Woodlands Vista Point
• Organised, proactive, and willing to support the wider team when required
• Positive working attitude and willingness to grow with the centre

The candidate must be comfortable travelling between both centres based on class schedule.

Working Arrangement

• Full-time position
• 5.5-day work week
• Weekday evenings and weekends may be required due to tuition class timings
• Exact working schedule will be discussed during the interview
