Role Overview

We are seeking a Head of Fundraising & Partnerships to lead The Helping Hand’s fundraising, donor engagement, and partnership strategy. Reporting to the Executive Director, this role is responsible for developing and executing initiatives that generate sustainable income, strengthen stakeholder relationships, and expand community support for the organisation's mission. The role will lead fundraising across corporate partnerships, foundations, churches, community organisations, and individual donors, while establishing the systems, processes, and team capabilities required to support long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

A. Fundraising Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and execute the annual fundraising strategy, income targets, and growth plans.
  • Lead fundraising efforts across corporate, foundation, church, community, and individual donor channels to diversify and grow revenue streams.
  • Build, manage, and maintain a qualified fundraising pipeline, ensuring consistent prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.
  • Develop compelling fundraising propositions, sponsorship packages, and partnership opportunities aligned with organisational priorities.
  • Monitor fundraising performance, assess market trends, and recommend strategies to maximise fundraising effectiveness and revenue growth.

B. Corporate & Strategic Partnerships

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure strategic partnerships with corporations, community organisations, churches, and other stakeholders.
  • Build long-term relationships that deliver recurring financial support, volunteer engagement, advocacy, and other forms of partnership value.
  • Identify opportunities to expand existing partnerships and develop new strategic collaborations that support organisational growth.

C. Major Donors & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Develop and implement strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and key supporters.
  • Ensure donors and supporters receive timely communications, stewardship activities, impact reporting, and recognition.
  • Support the development of donor engagement plans that improve donor retention, giving levels, and long-term supporter loyalty.

D. Leadership, Reporting & Accountability

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Fundraising & Communications team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Establish and continuously improve fundraising processes, donor stewardship frameworks, CRM systems, dashboards, and reporting capabilities.
  • Monitor key performance indicators including funds raised, donor retention, partnership value, campaign performance, and fundraising return on investment.
  • Prepare regular reports, forecasts, and strategic updates for the Executive Director, Partnerships & Outreach committee, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure fundraising activities comply with organisational policies, governance requirements, and donor management best practices.

What We Are Looking For

  • 7–10 years of experience in fundraising, partnerships, business development, account management, or a related field, with progressive leadership responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated success in securing significant donations, sponsorships, grants, strategic partnerships, or other revenue-generating opportunities.
  • Strong ability to develop and execute fundraising strategies that drive revenue growth and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven experience building and managing relationships with senior corporate leaders, donors, foundations, community organisations, and other key stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with experience leading, mentoring, and developing small teams.
  • Experience establishing fundraising processes, CRM systems, reporting frameworks, and performance measurement practices.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen, with the ability to interpret fundraising data and translate insights into action.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong alignment with The Helping Hand’s mission, values, and commitment to community impact.
