Service Engineer

Job Summary

Responsible for troubleshooting, overhauling and repair of vibration dampers, pumps, geared motors, gearboxes, and drive systems. Provide technical support to ensure reliable equipment operation and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and execute repairs to restore equipment functionality
• Conduct vibration, temperature, noise, and performance inspections to monitor equipment condition
• Align pumps, motors, and gearboxes and verify proper installation to optimize system performance
• Troubleshoot issues such as excessive noise, vibration, overheating, oil leakage, and abnormal wear
• Inspect and replace bearings, seals, gears, brakes, and other components as needed to sustain equipment integrity
• Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance records, and technical recommendations to support continuous improvement
• Provide technical training and support to customers and maintenance personnel to enhance operational knowledge
• Coordinate with engineering and sales teams to address service requirements and suggest product improvements
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and company quality standards, organizing work areas for efficiency and safety
• Maintain appropriate service spares and tools inventories to support timely maintenance, overhaul and repair activities
• Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate technical recommendations to meet their needs

Requirements

• Higher NITEC or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field
• Minimum 3 years of experience servicing anti-vibration products, pumps, wheels & castors, geared motors, gearboxes, industrial drives, or rotating equipment
• Knowledge of pump and gear systems, bearings, lubrication, shaft alignment, and condition monitoring
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and technical manuals
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Willingness to travel overseas and work at customer sites
• Class 3 driving license

Preferred skills

• Familiarity with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control systems
• Experience in diesel engine, electric motor, pump, and gearbox overhaul and repair
• Good technical, communication, and customer service skills
• Proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and other computer tools and software
• Ability to interact successfully with customers and respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies
• Fluency in English; bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Ability to operate pedestrian trucks or lift trucks
