Resident Physician

Join a dynamic healthcare team as a Resident Physician, where you will play a vital role in patient care and clinical management while guiding and mentoring junior medical staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive patient care and oversee the daily operations of clinical wards.

• Supervise and mentor House Officers, Medical Officers, and Trainees.

• Manage cold and urgent referrals not specifically assigned to any named consultant.

• Escalate complex patient cases to the on-call Consultant for specialist intervention.

• Oversee the preparation and endorsement of consultation and referral letters during emergencies outside office hours.

• Participate in departmental ward rounds, hospital teaching seminars, and clinical case conferences.

• Represent the hospital in Coroner’s inquests or medico-legal hearings involving ward patients.

• Conduct ward rounds at night or outside regular hours while on call.

• Compile confidential mortality reports for submission to the Chairman Medical Board through the Head of Department.

• Fulfill night duty obligations as necessary and adhere to additional responsibilities as directed by the Head of Department or Chairman Medical Board.

• In surgical disciplines, perform elective and emergency procedures within the scope permitted by senior staff.

• Teach basic operative procedures to House Officers and Medical Officers, providing guidance as needed.

Requirements

• Possess a basic or post-graduate medical qualification from an accredited medical school, eligible for registration with the Singapore Medical Council.

• Have completed at least 1 year of housemanship and 3 years of medical officer postings or their equivalent.

• Exhibit a commitment to continuous learning to ensure quality patient care.

• Demonstrate strong diagnostic skills and clinical management capabilities.

• Display effective teamwork and the ability to motivate team members in a collaborative environment.
