Banyule City Council is seeking a practical, organised and customer‑focused

Fleet Workshop Support Officer to support the day‑to‑day operations of Council’s fleet and workshop services. This role plays a key part in ensuring Council vehicles, plant and equipment are well managed, compliant and ready to support services across the municipality.

You’ll work closely with mechanics, fleet staff and internal stakeholders, providing administrative, coordination and operational support to help keep Banyule’s fleet running efficiently and safely.

Role

Working with the Fleet Team at our Operations Depot in Bellfield you’ll provide administrative, compliance and systems support to the Fleet Workshop to strengthen governance, control effectiveness and compliance with Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) and Chain of Responsibility (CoR). In this role, you will:

  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Fleet Workshop
  • Assist with scheduling, record keeping and fleet data management
  • Liaise with internal customers, suppliers and contractors
  • Support compliance activities including servicing, inspections and documentation
  • Assist with purchasing, invoicing and stock or parts coordination
  • Contribute to a safe, organised and customer‑focused workshop environment

What You'll Bring

You are organised, reliable and enjoy working in a busy operational environment. You’ll bring:

  • Strong administrative and coordination skills
  • Confidence using systems, databases and MS Office
  • Good communication skills and a customer service mindset
  • The ability to prioritise tasks and work to deadlines
  • Experience in a fleet, workshop, operations or local government environment (desirable)

Pre-employment Requirements

  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
  • Forklift license (desirable)
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check

We Offer

  • A temporary (2 years) full time role with a monthly RDO
  • Salary $76,745.19 to $80,983.71 per annum plus super (dependent ton experience)
  • 26 weeks of paid parental leave - primary carer/4 weeks of paid parental leave - partner
