School-Based Social Worker

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Design & Delivery: Design and deliver a restorative practice programme focused on building positive peer relationships, fostering empathy, and equipping students with self-regulation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Parental Engagement: Engage parents to discuss student progress, behavioral concerns, and home-reinforcement strategies. Conduct restorative conversations or conferences involving parents, students, and school staff when necessary.

  • Teacher Collaboration: Engage Form and Subject Teachers to share observations and discuss follow-up actions for individual students or classes. Involve teachers in restorative conferences to resolve classroom conflicts.

  • Alternative Delivery Mode: Adapt and deliver the services via digital or electronic modes if in-person school activities are suspended, ensuring meaningful student engagement.

Position Details & Work Schedule

  • Location: Fengshan Primary School, 307 Bedok North Road, Singapore 469680.

  • Work Hours: Fridays only, from 7:30 am to 3:30 pm (inclusive of a 1-hour lunch break). No service is required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays.

  • In-Class Target Timings: Primary 4 sessions from 7:30 am – 8:30 am; Primary 5 sessions from 8:30 am – 9:30 am (timings subject to change).

  • Contract Duration: * Base Period: 17 July 2026 to 31 December 2026 (consisting of 8 specific Friday sessions).

    • Option Period: 2 January 2027 to 31 October 2027 (consisting of 16 sessions, subject to extension at the school's discretion).

Job Requirements & Qualifications

  • Education: Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as Psychology, Counselling, or Social Work.

  • Professional Registration: Must be a registered professional with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW).

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in conducting restorative practices or restorative approaches, preferably within a school setting.

  • Track Record: Ability to provide a documented track record of current and past training conducted for similar programmes from 1 January 2024 onwards
