Nurse (Inpatient)

Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, individualized nursing care in alignment with patients' needs and conditions.
- Maintain high standards in documentation, treatment, patient monitoring, and infection control.
- Allocate equipment to ensure sufficient resources for care requirements.
- Build rapport with patients and their families; communicate effectively regarding care plans.
- Provide direct patient care and evaluate conditions under the supervision of experienced nurses.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to facilitate seamless patient service delivery.
- Adhere to organisational and legal regulations concerning drug and medical supply management.
- Document patients' conditions accurately and maintain comprehensive records of referrals and attendances.
- Administer medications (oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous) and perform dressing changes under supervision, excluding IV injections and controlled substances.
- Verify all phone orders for medications with supervising staff.
- Ensure continuity of care and treatment plans.
- Assist with palliative nursing care as required, under supervision.
- Monitor proper use of medical equipment and consumables.
- Uphold confidentiality and maintain a secure patient care environment.
- Train and support Patient Care Assistants in relevant care practices.
- Comply with professional standards set by regulatory bodies and stay updated with industry guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the workplace.
- Initiate and implement continuous improvement initiatives in the care environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Possession of at least a NITEC in Nursing or equivalent, and registration with the relevant nursing board.
- Preferred post-registration experience in a hospital or hospice setting.
- Familiarity with IT systems and their application in healthcare.
- Strong commitment to providing exceptional service and support.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
