Nurse (Inpatient)

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, individualized nursing care in alignment with patients' needs and conditions.

• Maintain high standards in documentation, treatment, patient monitoring, and infection control.

• Allocate equipment to ensure sufficient resources for care requirements.

• Build rapport with patients and their families; communicate effectively regarding care plans.

• Provide direct patient care and evaluate conditions under the supervision of experienced nurses.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to facilitate seamless patient service delivery.

• Adhere to organisational and legal regulations concerning drug and medical supply management.

• Document patients' conditions accurately and maintain comprehensive records of referrals and attendances.

• Administer medications (oral, intramuscular, and subcutaneous) and perform dressing changes under supervision, excluding IV injections and controlled substances.

• Verify all phone orders for medications with supervising staff.

• Ensure continuity of care and treatment plans.

• Assist with palliative nursing care as required, under supervision.

• Monitor proper use of medical equipment and consumables.

• Uphold confidentiality and maintain a secure patient care environment.

• Train and support Patient Care Assistants in relevant care practices.

• Comply with professional standards set by regulatory bodies and stay updated with industry guidelines.

• Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the workplace.

• Initiate and implement continuous improvement initiatives in the care environment.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Possession of at least a NITEC in Nursing or equivalent, and registration with the relevant nursing board.

• Preferred post-registration experience in a hospital or hospice setting.

• Familiarity with IT systems and their application in healthcare.

• Strong commitment to providing exceptional service and support.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of work.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team.
