Responsibilities

  • Conduct radiation dosimetry, calibration, and in-vivo measurements.
  • Ensure quality assurance of treatment machines, planning systems, and dosimetry equipment.
  • Implement radiation safety measurements and administrative protocols.
  • Oversee radiation treatment plan quality assurance.
  • Manage equipment commissioning and acceptance.
  • Provide professional development, training, and orientation across various aspects of radiation therapy physics.
  • Engage in research and development activities.
  • Mentor Radiation Physicists effectively.

Requirements

  • A postgraduate degree in Medical Physics is preferred; a postgraduate degree in Physics or Engineering will also be considered.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant clinical experience is preferred.
  • Proven track record of publications in recognized journals.
  • Proficiency in data gathering, report preparation, and information compilation.
  • Strong understanding of current principles, methods, procedures, and techniques in radiation therapy.
  • Knowledge of the operation, usage, and safety parameters of a wide range of radiation therapy equipment and facilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with computer hardware and software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a capability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to design and present educational programs or workshops.
  • Skills in designing, developing, and modifying radiation therapy devices and modalities.
  • In-depth knowledge of radiation safety principles, methods, and procedures.
  • Understanding of regulations, guidelines, and standards for medical physics and radiation therapy provision to patients.
  • Ability to advise and consult with medical providers and specialists.
  • Experience in researching and developing new devices and modalities for enhanced therapeutic applications of radiation.
