Music Instrumental Teacher [Piano/Drums/Guitar]

We are looking for a passionate and energetic Music Teacher who enjoys working with children and is confident teaching a variety of instruments. The ideal candidate should have a strong primary instrument in Piano, Drums, or Guitar, while being comfortable facilitating beginner-level instruction across other instruments and musical activities.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Student Development

  • Conduct engaging one-to-one and small group music lessons for children aged 24 months to teenagers.
  • Teach students on your primary instrument (Piano, Drums, or Guitar) to a high standard.
  • Facilitate beginner-level instruction on a variety of instruments
  • Prepare students for performances, recitals, examinations, and showcases.
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to parents.

Workshops & Events

  • Conduct music workshops in schools, community centres, corporate settings, and enrichment programmes.
  • Facilitate group activities such as: Build-a-Band Workshops Bucket Drumming Ukulele Workshops Music Exploration Programmes Team-Building Music Workshops
  • Assist in planning and preparing workshop materials and equipment.
  • Support SGM performances, recitals, camps, and community outreach events.

Administrative & Team Responsibilities

  • Maintain lesson records and student progress notes.
  • Communicate professionally with parents and guardians.
  • Participate in team training, meetings, and curriculum development.
  • Assist with studio operations and preparation of teaching resources where required.

Requirements

Essential

  • Proficiency in at least one primary instrument: Piano, Drums, or Guitar.
  • Ability to play and teach multiple instruments at a beginner to intermediate level.
  • Enjoy working with children and families.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Positive, energetic, and nurturing personality.
  • Willingness to teach both individual and group classes.
  • Comfortable working weekends.

Preferred

  • Diploma, Degree, or equivalent qualifications in Music or Music Education.
  • ABRSM, Trinity, Rockschool, or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience teaching young children.
  • Experience conducting workshops, camps, or enrichment programmes.
  • Ability to accompany singing groups and ensembles.
  • Familiarity with Kodály, Orff, Dalcroze, or similar child-centred teaching approaches.
