Job Summary

Boon Lay Secondary School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Management & Behaviour Support Officer to support the school's student management, discipline, intervention, mentoring, and case management functions. The successful candidate will work closely with school leaders, counsellors, case management teams, and teachers to provide behavioural support, conduct interventions, manage discipline records, and assist in student investigations.

Key Responsibilities

Student Discipline Management

  • Support implementation of student management and discipline processes.

  • Assist in handling student referrals, disciplinary matters, and follow-up actions.

  • Provide supervision and mentoring for students requiring behavioural support.

  • Conduct restorative conversations and developmental interventions.

  • Monitor students requiring closer behavioural supervision.

Pull-Out / Chill-Out / In-House Suspension Management

  • Manage designated intervention and chill-out spaces.

  • Support students in emotional regulation and reintegration into classes.

  • Maintain intervention records and outcome tracking.

  • Conduct mentoring, coaching, and student check-in sessions.

  • Facilitate individual and group intervention programs.

  • Build positive relationships with vulnerable and at-risk students.

  • Develop students’ conflict resolution, self-management, and social-emotional skills.

De-escalation Support

  • Respond to teacher requests involving escalated student behaviour.

  • Assist in safely escorting students to intervention areas.

  • Support behaviour management and crisis de-escalation efforts.

Investigation & Fact-Finding Support

  • Assist in investigations involving discipline, bullying, and student misconduct.

  • Gather student statements and incident accounts.

  • Support evidence collection and documentation.

  • Prepare investigation records and timeline reports.

  • Provide administrative support for investigation processes.

Discipline Records & Database Management

  • Update and maintain discipline databases and records.

  • Document interventions, incidents, investigations, and follow-up actions.

  • Generate discipline and behavioural trend reports.

  • Ensure proper filing and record management standards.

Case Management Support

  • Work closely with:

    • Case Management Team (CMT)

    • School Counsellors (SC)

    • Special Educational Needs Officers (SENO)

    • School Leaders

  • Provide case observations and progress updates.

  • Participate in case review and intervention meetings.

Additional Duties

  • Support student supervision activities.

  • Assist in student development and discipline-related programmes.

  • Undertake other student management duties assigned by the school.

Mandatory Requirements

Education

  • Diploma or Degree preferred in:

    • Social Work

    • Psychology

    • Counselling

    • Education

    • Youth Work

    • Behavioural Sciences

    • Related disciplines

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in:

    • Youth Work

    • Social Work

    • Counselling

    • Educational Support

    • Behavioural Support

    • Student Management

    • Social Services

    • Mentoring

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in school environments.

  • Student mentoring and youth engagement.

  • Behavioural intervention and case support.
