Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced SWIFT Technical Business Consultant to provide business and technical leadership for SWIFT-related initiatives within a trading, payments, and securities environment.

This role will serve as the key subject matter expert for SWIFT architecture, messaging standards, and business process integration, working closely with internal stakeholders and external implementation partners. The successful candidate will oversee SWIFT technical designs, business process automation, testing activities, and implementation planning while ensuring alignment with operational, security, and architectural requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Provide subject matter expertise on SWIFT products, services, messaging standards, and infrastructure architecture.
Review and provide guidance on SWIFT technical designs, implementation plans, and infrastructure architecture blueprints.
Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and third-party SWIFT implementation teams.
Ensure SWIFT solutions align with business, operational, security, and architectural requirements.
Engage business process owners and stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document requirements.
Lead business process modelling and review activities to identify automation opportunities and operational efficiencies.
Provide expertise in payments, securities messaging, settlement processes, and back-office operations.
Review and validate message flows, business processes, and integration requirements across trading and settlement platforms.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and operational controls.
Review and develop comprehensive test scenarios and test cases to ensure adequate coverage.
Support user acceptance testing, system integration testing, and implementation activities.
Provide guidance on issue resolution, requirements clarification, and decision-making throughout project delivery.
Drive implementation best practices and governance across project workstreams.

Technical Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in Financial Services, Banking Technology, Capital Markets, or Payment Systems.
Solid experience in a Technical Business Lead, Business Analyst, Systems Integration, or Solution Delivery role.
Extensive knowledge of SWIFT Alliance Gateway (SAG), SWIFT Alliance Access (SAA), SWIFT WebAccess, SWIFTNet, FIN Messaging, and ISO 20022 standards.
Excellent understanding of payments, securities messaging, settlement, and post-trade processing workflows.
Experience with SWIFT infrastructure architecture, implementation planning, and system integration projects.
Good knowledge of SWIFT Customer Security Programme (CSP) requirements and security controls.
Experience in business process modelling (BPM), process automation, and workflow optimisation.
