Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager / Associate Director, Business Development (Asset Management Advisory) to drive business growth and strategic partnerships within the asset management and financial services sector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, developing relationships with asset management firms, financial institutions, and industry stakeholders, and supporting clients in their business expansion, market entry, strategic partnership, and operational development initiatives.

This role requires strong industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and an established network within Singapore's asset management and financial services ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Client Acquisition

  • Develop and maintain relationships with asset management companies, fund managers, family offices, wealth management firms, and other financial institutions.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities to support the firm's growth objectives.
  • Lead client acquisition efforts, including prospecting, proposal development, commercial negotiations, and contract discussions.
  • Build and manage a pipeline of prospective clients and strategic partners.

Industry Advisory & Strategic Consulting

  • Advise clients on market expansion opportunities, business development strategies, partnership initiatives, and industry best practices.
  • Support clients in evaluating market trends, competitive positioning, and business growth opportunities within Singapore and the region.
  • Conduct industry research and market analysis to identify emerging opportunities and potential business risks.
  • Prepare business proposals, market assessments, and strategic recommendations for clients and management.

Stakeholder & Partnership Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior executives, business leaders, and industry stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure the successful execution of consulting engagements and business initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and business forums.
  • Facilitate collaboration opportunities between clients, strategic partners, and industry participants.

Market Intelligence & Industry Research

  • Monitor developments within the asset management, wealth management, fintech, and broader financial services sectors.
  • Analyse regulatory, commercial, and competitive developments impacting clients and industry participants.
  • Provide regular insights and recommendations to support business planning and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Management, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in business development, consulting, relationship management, corporate advisory, financial services, asset management, or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the asset management, wealth management, fintech, or financial services landscape.
  • Proven experience in client acquisition, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a commercial mindset.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of working independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing network within the asset management, financial services, fintech, or investment ecosystem in Singapore and the region.
  • Experience working with consulting firms, advisory businesses, financial institutions, or corporate strategy teams.
  • Familiarity with regional business development and cross-border partnership initiatives.
  • Experience engaging C-suite executives, business owners, and institutional stakeholders.
