About the Role
As a Director, Insto Non-Financial Risk (NFR), Singapore and SEAIME, you will lead non-financial risk across the South East Asia franchise, acting as a trusted advisor to business leaders and supporting sustainable growth by ensuring risks across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage are effectively identified, assessed, managed and reported within appetite.
Based in Singapore, you will provide strategic risk counsel, strengthen risk governance and embed a proactive risk culture that supports sound decision-making, regulatory compliance and strong customer and business outcomes.
You will also partner with the Head of International Non-Financial Risk and key stakeholders to support regulatory engagement and change across the region, while leading the execution of key non-financial risk uplift initiatives, including PACT where relevant, and driving strong collaboration across business, 2LOD and control functions.

Role Type: Full-time, Permanent What will your day look like?
As a Director, Insto Non-Financial Risk (NFR), Singapore and SEAIME, you will;
Act as a trusted advisor to South East Asia business leaders on non-financial risk, supporting decision-making and sustainable growth within appetite
Provide challenge and insight on the regional risk profile, key risk themes, control effectiveness and risk in change across Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage
Build strong partnerships with business leadership, 2LOD and control functions to drive practical and effective risk outcomes
Lead the non-financial risk governance framework across South East Asia, including forums, reporting, escalation and decision-making
Ensure material risks are identified, assessed, managed, monitored and reported within appetite with clear ownership and timely escalation
Drive improvements in controls, tools, data and processes to strengthen the regional control environment
Support proactive regulatory engagement in partnership with Compliance and the Head of International Non-Financial Risk
Lead the regional regulatory change agenda, ensuring requirements are understood early and embedded effectively into business and control frameworks
Anticipate emerging risk themes and regulatory expectations, ensuring timely and aligned responses
Deliver and embed key non-financial risk uplift initiatives, including PACT where relevant
Monitor execution, resolve delivery challenges and ensure consistent adoption of uplifted capabilities and processes
Lead and develop a high-performing South East Asia NFR team, strengthening capability, succession and alignment to International NFR priorities
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
Strong experience in institutional banking and non-financial risk, with sound understanding of Markets, Transaction Banking, Corporate Finance and Coverage
Deep expertise in non-financial risk frameworks, governance and control environments within complex financial services organisations
Proven ability to act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, influencing decisions while balancing commercial and risk outcomes
Strong regulatory engagement experience, with the ability to translate regulatory expectations into practical, sustainable business actions
Demonstrated track record in leading regulatory change and risk/control uplift initiatives across complex regional environments
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to simplify complex risk issues into clear, actionable insights
Strong stakeholder management capability across business, 2LOD, regulators and control functions
Proven leadership experience building, developing and leading high-performing teams in a regional context
Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions, balancing enterprise standards with local regulatory requirements
Solid understanding of prudential, conduct and operational risk requirements relevant to institutional banking
Ability to leverage data, management information and risk tools to support governance, insights and decision-making
Relevant qualifications in risk, finance, law, business or related disciplines, with professional accreditations in risk or governance advantageous
