Facility Technician

Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of building facilities and workshop infrastructure.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical, plumbing, and structural systems.
  • Carry out visual inspections and functional checks of workshop utilities and equipment, including air systems and hoists.
  • Proactively identify potential issues and report them before breakdowns occur.
  • Raise work requests and escalate discrepancies to the Facility Manager or relevant contractors for corrective actions.
  • Track recurring maintenance problems and suggest preventive measures to minimize downtime and repair expenses.
  • Collaborate with external vendors for specialized repairs or regulatory servicing.
  • Ensure safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguishers, emergency lights) is functioning correctly.
  • Support workshop setups, layout modifications, and equipment relocations as necessary.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly report hazards or defects.
  • Ensure compliance with local safety, building, and environmental regulations.
  • Support audits and inspections conducted by authorities or internal teams.
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in shared areas and workshops.
  • Document maintenance actions through logs, checklists, and service records.
  • Report ongoing faults and recommend corrective or preventive actions.

Requirements

  • NITEC/Higher NITEC/Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably within an automotive workshop or similar industrial setting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and external partners.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.
