Job Summary

As Recreation Manager, you will lead coaching excellence, grow participation in programmes, camps, and events, and embed The Yard’s culture and standards to support the facility’s ongoing development and success.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage day-to-day coaching operations to ensure smooth, efficient delivery across all programmes and locations
• Review and enhance systems and processes to improve operational effectiveness and optimise programme delivery
• Collaborate with senior leadership to recruit, develop, and motivate a high-performing recreational coaching team
• Manage programmes, camps, and events to deliver outstanding customer experiences and increase participation
• Support wider business development initiatives and contribute to long-term growth strategies for the facility
• Embed The Yard’s culture and standards across all areas of the business to maintain quality and consistency

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Proven leadership and management experience in sport, recreation, leisure, or customer-focused environments
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills applied to improving and optimising operational systems
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to engage stakeholders and team members
• Passion for sport, youth development, and delivering exceptional customer experiences
• Flexibility to support events, camps, and occasional coaching responsibilities
