Principal of Designer

OPPEIN CONCEPT PTE. LTD.

As a Principal Designer at OPPEIN, you will:

  • Lead the end-to-end design process for residential and commercial interior projects.
  • Develop creative design concepts, space-planning solutions, and material specifications that align with clients’ functional and aesthetic requirements.
  • Manage client consultations, presentations, design proposals, and project approvals.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of layout plans, technical drawings, detailed shop drawings, and 3D visualizations.
  • Provide design leadership and guidance to junior designers and drafters.
  • Conduct site surveys, verify measurements, and ensure design accuracy throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate closely with sales, production, suppliers, contractors, and installation teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Review quotations, project budgets, and specifications to ensure commercial viability and project profitability.
  • Monitor project progress, resolve design and site-related issues, and ensure quality standards are maintained.
  • Ensure compliance with Singapore building regulations, HDB renovation guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement in design standards, workflows, and customer experience.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of interior design experience, preferably within residential renovation and built-in cabinetry projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple interior design projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3D rendering software, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with CAXA internal system.
  • Extensive knowledge of Singapore residential renovation practices, HDB regulations, and space-planning principles.
  • Strong project management, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop junior design team members.
  • Willingness to work weekends and public holidays when project requirements demand.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in kitchen, wardrobe, and custom cabinetry design.
  • Familiarity with modular furniture systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and ability to manage tight project timelines.
  • Knowledge of HDB Renovation Guidelines and relevant industry regulations.
