A project coordinator’s role in

commercial and residential interior fit out projects:-

is to plan, coordinate, control, and deliver the project safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality. Key responsibilities usually include:

  • Project planning and scheduling – preparing timelines, milestones, work programmes, and resource plans.
  • Budget and cost control – monitoring project costs, approving variations, managing claims, and controlling expenditure.
  • Stakeholder coordination – liaising with clients, consultants, contractors, authorities, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Design and documentation coordination – ensuring drawings, specifications, approvals, and technical information are aligned.
  • Procurement management – coordinating tendering, contractor selection, material procurement, and subcontractor appointments.
  • Site supervision and progress monitoring – tracking daily/weekly progress, resolving site issues, and ensuring works follow the programme.
  • Quality management – ensuring construction meets specifications, standards, and client expectations.
  • Health, safety, and environmental compliance – making sure safety procedures and statutory requirements are followed.
  • Risk management – identifying project risks early and putting mitigation plans in place.
  • Contract administration – managing contractual obligations, progress payments, change orders, delays, and extensions of time.
  • Authority approvals and compliance – coordinating submissions, permits, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communication and reporting – preparing progress reports, chairing meetings, and updating clients or senior management.
  • Handover and close-out – managing inspections, defects rectification, as-built documents, warranties, ensuring quality workmanship and final handover.

Competencies and qualifications

  • Professional Certificate ,minium 3 years of experience
  • Valid driving license
  • Ability to analyze site constraints, design changes, coordination issues, and unexpected technical challenges.
  • Ability to make timely, practical, and informed decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work nights and weekends as project demands
