Role Overview
The Commissioning Engineer is responsible for executing and leading commissioning activities for Industrial Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Municipal Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), and Water Treatment Plants (UPW/Desalination). The role covers the full commissioning lifecycle—from pre-commissioning to handover—ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Responsibilities
Commissioning Activities
Execute and lead all stages of commissioning:
Pre-Commissioning
Wet Commissioning
Process Commissioning
Performance Testing
Documentation and Client Handover
Post-Commissioning Support
Troubleshooting
Engineering & Documentation
Review P&IDs, PFDs, Mass Balances, Design Basis Reports, Control Philosophy, and Cause & Effect Matrices.
Work closely with Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, and Control teams to ensure installations meet design intent.
Prepare and review:
Commissioning Plans
Checklists
Procedures
Performance Test Procedures and Reports
SOPs
O&M Manuals
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports.
Manage commissioning punch lists.
Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Conduct data analysis to diagnose equipment and process issues.
Identify defects in design, installation, and functionality of equipment, piping, instruments, and controls.
Provide technical feedback and ensure closure of identified issues.
Support Site Acceptance Tests and Performance Testing with client endorsement.
Project Support
Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth project execution and closure.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Biochemical Engineering. Other qualifications may be considered based on relevant experience.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience in commissioning of water and wastewater treatment systems.
Strong proficiency in Mandarin (both written and spoken) is preferred as the role would support China and Taiwan in addition to other project sites globally.
Proven experience in execution of overseas projects is highly preferred.
Ability to travel to project sites locally and globally (up to 50% travel) when required.
