In this role, you will be deployed to Presbyterian High School to support the School's Discipline Team as a Teacher Aide, providing essential manpower services to maintain a conducive learning environment.

Job Purpose

The Teacher Aide will support the School's Discipline Team in managing student discipline matters, maintaining order within and outside the school compound, and providing administrative support for school events. This role requires a patient, empathetic individual who enjoys working with young people and can engage effectively with students, parents, and teachers .

Key Responsibilities

Discipline Support

  • Assist in managing and tracking late-comers to school

  • Manage and track students on detention and suspension

  • Conduct patrolling within and outside the school compound during and after school hours

  • Support investigations of discipline cases

  • Provide guidance and counselling to students involved in discipline cases

Administrative & Operational Support

  • Provide administrative and operations support for school events

  • Maintain records and documentation related to discipline matters

  • Assist with day-to-day administrative tasks using Microsoft Office applications

Working Hours

Monday

7:30am – 3:30pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)

Tuesday

7:30am – 5:30pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)

Wednesday

7:30am – 3:30pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)

Thursday

7:30am – 5:30pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)

Friday

7:30am – 4:00pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)

Service not required:

  • Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays

  • Year-end school holidays (November – December 2026 and 2027)

  • Mid-year school holidays (June 2027 and 2028)

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • Secondary school education

  • At least 1 year of working experience working with students/teenagers, preferably in the area of discipline management 

  • Good team player with strong interpersonal skills

  • Possess good people skills and ability to:

  • Engage students effectively

  • Contact and communicate with parents

  • Liaise with teachers professionally

  • Demonstrate patience and empathy

Preferred Skills:

  • Able to work independently with minimum supervision and achieve targets set

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, sufficient to perform day-to-day administrative tasks independently

  • Positive discipline techniques and classroom management knowledge 

Remuneration & Benefits

  • Leave Entitlements: Vacation Leave and Ordinary Sick Leave as agreed in the service contract 

  • CPF Contributions: As per Singapore Employment Act requirements 

  • Probation Period: 3 months, during which the School reserves the right to request a replacement if assessed as unsuitable for the role

Contract Terms

  • Contract Period: 3 August 2026 to 31 December 2027

  • Option to Extend: School has the option to extend the contract for a further period of 10 months from 1 January 2028 to 31 October 2028

  • Probation: 3 months probation period

  • Replacement Clause: Should the School deem the deployed Personnel unsuitable, or if the Personnel resigns/terminates, the Contractor shall find a suitable permanent replacement within 14 working days at no extra cost to the School
