Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)-BTO Projects

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations and identify hazards on HDB construction sites.
  • Implement and maintain safety procedures in line with the Workplace Safety and Health Act and guidelines set by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • Advise site management on health and safety matters, providing recommendations to reduce risk and improve safety standards.
  • Prepare and review safety plans, risk assessments, and emergency procedures.
  • Conduct safety training and orientations for workers to ensure adherence to safety standards.
  • Investigate accidents and near-misses, prepare reports, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Liaise with external authorities (e.g., MOM, BCA) for audits, inspections, and safety certifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of safety reports, accident logs, and training records.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and maintain effective communication with all site workers and supervisors.
  • Monitor and report on the implementation of safety initiatives and provide regular updates to management.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in workplace safety within the construction industry, with at least 1 year of experience in HDB construction projects.
  • Possess a valid WSH Officer certification from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
  • Knowledge of local regulations, safety standards, and best practices in construction.
  • Strong understanding of risk management and hazard identification techniques.
  • Ability to conduct safety audits, investigations, and inspections.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with site supervisors and workers.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with the requirements of the Building and Construction Authority (BCA).
  • Experience with safety management systems and software.
  • First Aid and CPR certification will be an advantage.
