Job Summary
Lead and mentor a Quantity Surveying team to deliver expert consultancy services for high-value projects across diverse sectors, ensuring quality, budget, and timeline adherence while driving business growth and client relationship development.
Responsibilities
- Establish and lead a Quantity Surveying (QS) team to deliver high-quality project outcomes within specified timelines and budgets
- Develop and secure new business opportunities to expand the firm’s project portfolio
- Provide expert quantity surveying consultancy services from project inception to completion for high-value projects
- Manage and nurture client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business
- Deliver cost advisory services collaborating across JLL teams to optimize project financials
- Lead and mentor QS team members, ensuring appropriate training, guidance, and performance management
- Oversee estimating, pre-contract cost control, documentation, tendering, and post-contract procedures to meet JLL standards
- Deputize for and support the Director in office management and development activities
- Interview, recommend, and plan resource allocation for permanent and contract staff to maximize efficiency
- Drive continuous improvement by encouraging staff feedback and implementing best practices
- Brief, direct, and supervise QS staff to ensure client requirements and project standards are met
- Monitor project progress and maintain quality standards under pressure and tight deadlines
- Negotiate risk-assessed solutions and manage ambiguities effectively to support project success
- Utilize digital platforms and technology tools to enhance project delivery and team collaboration
- Communicate clearly and collaborate across teams to achieve project goals and foster teamwork
Required competencies and certifications
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field and/or 8 to 10 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying or Cost Consultancy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong technological aptitude
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- APQS, RICS, AAIQS, or SISV professional qualifications
- Experience in QS consultancy firms
- Exposure to commercial interior fit-out projects
- Strong communication, negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills
- Ability to work resiliently under competing priorities and tight deadlines
- Aptitude for digital working methods and technology platforms
