Senior Accountant (Commercial & Project Finance)

Overview

Our client is an established business within the engineering and industrial services sector. They are seeking an experienced and hands-on finance professional to support financial reporting, project accounting, budgeting, and compliance activities while partnering with key stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end financial closing activities and ensure timely preparation of management reports.

• Prepare financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, cash flow analysis, and supporting schedules.

• Support annual budgeting and forecasting exercises, including performance tracking and variance analysis.

• Partner with operational and project teams to monitor project financial performance, profitability, and cost controls.

• Review project expenditures and provide insights to improve financial efficiency and decision-making.

• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including GST, corporate tax, audit, and regulatory reporting.

• Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, banks, and relevant authorities.

• Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, internal controls, and reporting accuracy.

• Assist management with financial analysis, business initiatives, and ad-hoc projects as required.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy, ACCA, CPA, CA, or equivalent professional qualification.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience in a commercial environment.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, taxation, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience in project accounting, cost analysis, or business partnering will be advantageous.

• Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.

• Strong analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Proactive, organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities within tight timelines.
