IT Support Engineer
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Engineer to provide technical support and administration across enterprise applications, IT infrastructure, and end-user environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring system availability, troubleshooting technical issues, managing user access, and supporting day-to-day IT operations in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
This role requires a hands-on individual with strong experience in application support, Windows server administration, Active Directory, virtualization, networking, and cloud technologies. The ideal candidate should possess excellent problem-solving skills and a customer-focused mindset to deliver high-quality IT support services.
Key Responsibilities
Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for enterprise applications and IT infrastructure.
Perform application troubleshooting, incident investigation, and root cause analysis.
Monitor and maintain system availability, performance, and operational stability.
Manage user accounts, access rights, and permissions through Active Directory and enterprise systems.
Support Windows Server environments, including administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Administer and support virtualization platforms such as Hyper-V.
Assist with network troubleshooting involving switches, routers, firewalls, and connectivity issues.
Support security solutions including Fortinet and Cisco technologies.
Manage and resolve incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within agreed SLA timelines.
Participate in change management, release management, and deployment activities.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, vendors, and third-party support teams to resolve technical issues.
Support AWS cloud services including EC2, S3, VPC, and IAM.
Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Perform system health checks, monitoring, patching, and preventive maintenance activities.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
Ensure compliance with IT policies, security standards, and governance requirements.
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of experience in IT Support, Application Support, Infrastructure Support, or System Administration.
Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise applications and business-critical systems.
Experience administering Windows Server environments and Active Directory.
Knowledge of virtualization technologies, preferably Hyper-V.
Good understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and LAN/WAN technologies.
Experience supporting security technologies such as Fortinet and Cisco solutions.
Familiarity with AWS Cloud services including EC2, S3, VPC, and IAM.
Experience with incident management, problem management, and change management processes.
Understanding of ITIL best practices and SLA-driven support environments.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
ITIL Foundation Certification.
Microsoft, AWS, Cisco, or Fortinet certifications.
Experience supporting enterprise environments within engineering, manufacturing, marine, or industrial sectors.
Exposure to automation and scripting tools will be advantageous.
