Network Engineer — Ultra-Low-Latency Trading Infrastructure
DHARMACAPITAL PTE. LTD.
Location : Singapore · Type : Full-time · Team : Trading Infrastructure / Networking
About the Role
Dharmacapital Pte. Ltd. is a proprietary high-frequency trading firm seeking a Network Engineer to design, build, and operate the ultra-low-latency network infrastructure that underpins our trading systems. You will own the network path end-to-end — from exchange cross-connects and colocation switching to NIC tuning and kernel-bypass — where latency is measured in nanoseconds and every hop matters. This is a hands-on engineering role with direct, measurable impact on trading performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and operate low-latency network infrastructure across multiple exchange colocation facilities and data centers.
- Optimize end-to-end latency across the full stack and continuously hunt down nanoseconds.
- Manage exchange connectivity, cross-connects, and market data delivery, including UDP multicast feed handling, gap/arbitration, and feed redundancy.
- Deploy and tune Layer 1 / low-latency switching and low-latency L2/L3 networks.
- Implement and maintain precision time synchronization and ensure accurate, traceable timestamping across the environment.
- Work with kernel-bypass and accelerated networking technologies and support FPGA-based networking where applicable.
- Build and maintain latency monitoring, nanosecond-resolution packet capture, and analysis tooling.
- Coordinate and validate long-haul, microwave, and millimeter-wave connectivity between trading venues with carriers and vendors.
- Automate configuration, provisioning, and deployment and maintain infrastructure-as-code.
- Provide capacity planning, change management, and 24×7 on-call incident response for trading-critical systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of network engineering experience, ideally in low-latency, financial, or HFT environments.
- Deep, practical knowledge of TCP/IP, UDP multicast, Ethernet, and routing protocols.
- Hands-on experience with low-latency switching hardware and data center networking.
- Strong Linux networking internals and system/network performance tuning skills.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation.
- Strong troubleshooting skills under time pressure and a precise, data-driven approach to performance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with exchange colocation and market data infrastructure.
- Familiarity with kernel-bypass networking, DPDK, and/or FPGA-based network acceleration.
- Experience with PTP/IEEE 1588 time synchronization and high-precision timestamping.
- Knowledge of market data and order entry protocols.
- Experience with nanosecond packet capture and latency analysis tooling.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive compensation.
- Direct ownership of business-critical infrastructure with immediate, measurable impact.
- A flat, engineering-driven environment with access to cutting-edge hardware.
