Associate Engineer, IPNO (Networks)

Responsibilities

  • Monitor the transport network for faults and network infrastructure degradations, taking proactive and reactive remedial actions until resolution.
  • Execute network modifications for expansion, optimization, and upgrades in accordance with established Method of Procedure (MOP).
  • Conduct service impact analysis on scheduled changes, faults, or outages, and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
  • Perform both preventive and corrective maintenance, including hardware and software upgrades for network devices.
  • Carry out root cause analysis of hardware and system faults using advanced troubleshooting tools and techniques.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to minimize infrastructure faults and enhance monitoring capabilities.
  • Prepare budgets and track expenditures related to network operations.
  • Document and update records of production network information, incidents, and events.
  • Escalate complex technical issues to engineering teams or vendors, ensuring follow-up until resolution.
  • Undertake other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a relevant field.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in the telecommunications industry is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a goal-oriented mindset and a sense of urgency for operational excellence.
  • Capacity to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Proficient technical knowledge of IP concepts including LAN, WAN, VPN, and relevant network protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, SR-MPLS, SRv6, LDP, and DHCP.
  • Familiarity with structured cabling and programming languages such as Python and Java, along with skills in data modeling, machine learning, and deep learning, is advantageous.
  • Availability to participate in a 24x7 duty roster and perform network changes during off-peak hours.
