Assistant Director/Deputy Director, Analytics & Insights (Public Agency)

We are looking for an experienced analytics leader with strong expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, stakeholder management, and team leadership to drive tourism insights, data-driven decision-making, and strategic reporting across internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the compilation, analysis, and reporting of key tourism statistics and performance indicators.
• Deliver timely insights and updates on tourism performance to support organisational objectives.
• Translate complex data and research findings into actionable recommendations for business and policy decision-making.
• Support data-driven decision-making by providing meaningful insights to internal and external stakeholders.
• Liaise and coordinate with Whole-of-Government (WOG) agencies to gather, validate, and align data and information.
• Manage stakeholder relationships and collaborate with external partners on data and analytics initiatives.
• Ensure the successful delivery of analytics projects, reports, and data-related deliverables.
• Support the development and management of data partnerships to enhance insights generation and industry intelligence.
• Any other adhoc duties as assigned

Requirements

• Possesses minimum a Degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline, with at least 8 years of analytics experience and 3 years of team leadership experience.
• Strong expertise in data analytics, statistical modelling, forecasting, data visualisation, and quantitative/qualitative research methodologies, with proficiency in tools such as R, SQL, and Python.
• Proven ability to synthesise complex data from multiple sources into actionable insights and communicate findings effectively to senior management and stakeholders.
• Strong stakeholder, project, and vendor management skills, with experience collaborating across organisations and leading data-driven initiatives.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable professional with excellent communication skills, a passion for innovation, and an interest in emerging technologies and economic impact assessment.
