Research & Development (R&D) Director

Key Responsibilities

1. Direct the R&D team in the design, prototyping, and testing of new underwater robotic products and subsystems.
2. Manage technology transitions from R&D to production, ensuring designs are manufacturable and reliable.
3. Collaborate with product management to define technical specifications and product roadmaps.
4. Establish and maintain rigorous testing and validation protocols for marine environments.
5. Drive intellectual property creation and patent filings.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 8 years in R&D leadership within the robotics industry, with a strong focus on marine or underwater systems.

Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, fluid dynamics, materials science (marine-grade alloys, composites), and electronics packaging .

Hands-On: Experience with CAD tools, simulation software (CFD, FEA), and prototype fabrication.

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Ocean Engineering, or a related field.

Industry Experience: Required – direct work experience in the underwater robotics industry.
