Probe Engineer

PERSOL

Join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing MEMS microphone technology through rigorous testing and data analysis. This role offers the opportunity to enhance product quality and yield in both development and high-volume production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage wafer probe test specifications, limits, and methodologies for MEMS microphone products.
  • Analyze wafer probe data using statistical methods to define and refine test limits and identify distribution shifts.
  • Monitor and manage wafer yield performance, detecting abnormal wafer maps and outliers.
  • Collaborate closely with foundries to ensure test integrity and monitor daily production trends, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining products by analyzing characterization data and refining initial test limits based on production insights.
  • Maintain and support probe hardware setups, ensuring measurement repeatability, stability, and data integrity with Cascade probers and Keysight B1500.
  • Develop and implement automation tools (Excel VBA, Python, or similar) to efficiently analyze large datasets and create automated reports.
  • Prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings effectively to internal teams and management.
  • Drive reduction in test time and cost optimization by analyzing high-volume wafer probe data and implementing optimized test flows without compromising quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related field.
  • 3 to 5+ years of experience in wafer probe, CP, or parametric testing within the semiconductor or MEMS sector.
  • Hands-on experience with Cascade probers and Keysight B1500 (or comparable systems).
  • Solid understanding of parametric testing metrics (IV, leakage, resistance, capacitance, etc.) and wafer-level data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods, including SPC, Cp/Cpk, and distribution analysis.
  • Practical experience in data-driven test limit setting and familiarity with SBL/SYL implementation.
  • Basic programming or scripting skills in Excel VBA, Python, or similar.
  • Understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes; familiarity with MEMS device characteristics is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with keen attention to detail.
