About Ophir Gold Technology

Ophir Gold is a well-backed precious metals platform building a modern gold business across Singapore and Southeast Asia. We operate across retail, physical bullion, secure storage, and future digital gold offerings, combining trusted offline customer service with transparent pricing, strong controls, and technology-enabled access to gold ownership.

Our goal is to make buying, selling, storing, collecting, and accessing gold simpler, safer, and more seamless for customers across the region.

About the Role

We are hiring a Director, Metal Operations to lead the physical movement of precious metals across our business. You will own the operational backbone that ensures metal flows reliably, securely, and cost-effectively from refiner to vault to customer. This role is critical to the integrity of the Ophir Gold platform and requires both operational excellence and a deep understanding of the precious metals ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and oversee the secure movement of precious metals across suppliers, refiners, vaults, and retail points.
  • Manage relationships with refiners, logistics providers, secured transport partners, and vaulting facilities.
  • Own physical inventory accuracy, reconciliation, and audit readiness across all metal locations.
  • Lead operational compliance — including LBMA standards, customs, import/export, AML/KYC, and chain-of-custody.
  • Optimise cost, lead times, and service levels across the metal supply chain.
  • Partner with Finance on hedging, valuation, and inventory financing aligned to physical metal positions.
  • Build and lead the metal operations team, instilling a culture of discipline, accuracy, and security.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of operations, supply chain, or logistics leadership experience, with a strong track record managing high-value or regulated goods.
  • Direct experience moving precious metals, bullion, or comparable high-value commodities is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with LBMA Good Delivery, vaulting operations, and secured transport requirements.
  • Strong understanding of customs, import/export, and AML compliance in a Singapore or regional context.
  • Operationally rigorous — comfortable with SOPs, controls, audits, and exception management.
  • Strong vendor management and negotiation skills.

How You Show Up

  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and brings clarity to undefined problems.
  • A self-starter who sets the agenda, owns outcomes, and moves without waiting to be told what to do.
  • Demonstrates a growth mindset — curious, coachable, and committed to continuous improvement.
  • Resilient under pressure, with the maturity to lead through setbacks and change.

What We Offer

  • A leadership seat at a fast-scaling Singapore-headquartered precious metals business.
  • Direct exposure to founders and the executive team, with meaningful influence over strategy.
  • Competitive compensation aligned with the impact of the role.
  • The opportunity to build, not just maintain — shaping function, team, and processes from the ground up.
