About the Role
We are looking for a driven, commercially minded, and motivated individual to join our China Trading team as an Intern. This internship offers hands-on exposure to the global marine fuel (bunkering) industry, where you will work alongside experienced traders and operations professionals to gain practical experience in market analysis, commercial decision-making, and trade execution.
If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, solving problems, building relationships, and analysing market trends, this internship will provide valuable insight into one of the world's most dynamic industries.
This opportunity is open to final-year undergraduate students and recent graduates who are looking to gain practical experience in commodity trading and the maritime industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the China Trading team with daily market analysis, pricing updates, and trade-related research.
- Monitor market movements, shipping activities, and industry developments, with a focus on the China market.
- Assist in preparing quotations, commercial reports, and trading data.
- Work closely with the Operations team to support the execution of bunker deliveries, documentation, and supplier coordination.
- Maintain and update internal trading systems and databases.
- Support customer and supplier communications under the guidance of experienced traders.
- Participate in team discussions and contribute market intelligence and commercial insights.
- Assist with ad hoc projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications
- Final-year undergraduate or recent graduate in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong interest in commodity trading, shipping, or global energy markets.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to work with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers.
- Excellent proficiency in both English and Mandarin (spoken and written), as the role involves regular communication with Chinese-speaking customers, suppliers, and market participants.
