Staff Nurse

Summary of Role

Staff Nurse will be part of our Nursing team to provide high standard of nursing care to our renal hemodialysis patients. You are responsible to provide holistic care to our patients and support their emotion and physical concerns. You are also responsible to assist in patient education and ensure accurate nursing records are maintained. Staff Nurse will work closely with Clinic Nurse Manager in administrative aspects of center management. You will also require to support Management by taking up special / ad-hoc projects initiated by Management.

Key Accountabilities

Patient Care

• Participates in the planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care within the haemodialysis clinical setting:
• Undertakes clinical/patient assessments pre, during and post dialysis treatment to evaluate effectiveness of care
• Adheres to all FMC Policies and Work Instructions related to clinical and operation management
• Reviews blood test results and report to Medical Director of any abnormalities
• Educates patients on their diet, fluid, medications and blood pressure management to optimise their clinical outcomes
• Motivates and encourages patient’s adjustment to CHD
• Monitors the water treatment system and fluid for dialysis to ensure provision of safe, quality dialysis therapies
• Establish an effective relationship with patients and maintain good communication with patients and relatives; and give adequate support.
• Ensures/promotes a safe, secure and healthy working environment to staff and a comfortable, safe environment for visitors and patients as detailed in the IPC and environment policies
• Ensure all equipment is clean, safe and in good working condition; and report defects through appropriate channels.
• Maintains accurate patient information in medical records, including Therapy Data Management System (TDMS)/EuClid Clinical Information system and abides by confidentiality and Privacy Policy.
• Protects the rights of patients by adhering to Privacy Principles and providing an excellent standard of care
• Actively participates in the quality improvement process by reporting all incidents, hazards and opportunities for improvement
