Quantity Surveying Manager

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveying Manager to lead a team in ensuring effective project execution and post-contract commercial management. This role offers the opportunity to drive cost optimization and enhance financial outcomes throughout the construction process.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise a team of Quantity Surveyors for project delivery and commercial management.

• Oversee project budget tracking, cost forecasts, and financial analysis during project execution.

• Engage in value engineering initiatives and cost optimization efforts to enhance project profitability.

• Support project teams in submitting timely and well-substantiated claims, including variations and contractual entitlements.

• Report significant contractual and commercial issues from project discussions to senior management.

• Ensure accurate and timely certification of subcontractors' monthly claims in compliance with contractual obligations.

• Monitor cost control efforts to highlight variances and advise on financial risks.

• Assist in maintaining and tracking variation order (VO) registers to improve certification recovery.

• Lead assessments of subcontractors’ claims, ensuring compliance with contract terms.

• Manage contract administration and support negotiations with clients and consultants to safeguard company interests.

• Coach and develop Quantity Surveying team members, promoting adherence to templates and reporting standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a relevant field.

• Minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveying Manager in General Construction or Civil Construction.

• Experience in both the pre-contract and post-contract phases of projects.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.

• Strong analytical skills for financial records and data application to enhance outcomes.

• Solid aptitude for handling financial reports and spreadsheets.
