Director, Advancement
THE MAJURITY TRUST LIMITED
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced leader to serve as Director, Advancement. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role leads Majurity's resource mobilisation and donor partnership function — accountable for ensuring Majurity is well-resourced to pursue its mission and that every donor relationship is built on genuine alignment, not transactional generosity.
This is not a fundraising role in the conventional sense. Majurity does not chase volume. It builds relationships with donors who are motivated to give strategically, and who want a philanthropic partner who will challenge them to give well, not just gratefully. The Director, Advancement is the architect of that partnership model, spanning two interconnected mandates: securing the capital that funds Majurity's work, and advising Majurity's philanthropic partners as they navigate the social sector with clarity and confidence.
The ideal candidate brings deep sector credibility, strong relationship instincts, and genuine motivation to advance Majurity's mission. They are as comfortable in a one-on-one donor conversation as they are shaping Majurity's philanthropic strategy at the senior level.
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Director, Advancement will lead Majurity's resource mobilisation and donor partnership portfolio, encompassing:
- Donor partnership and capital mobilisation
- Philanthropic advisory and donor stewardship
- Ecosystem mapping and new donor development
- Impact narrative and donor communications
- CEO strategic partnership on advancement priorities and philanthropic positioning
1. Donor Partnership & Capital Mobilisation
The Director, Advancement owns Majurity's donor relationships and fundraising pipeline. This is the primary revenue accountability of the role.
- Lead the development and execution of Majurity's donor engagement strategy — identifying, cultivating, and deepening relationships with individuals, family offices, corporates, and institutional funders
- Own the fundraising pipeline — managing a portfolio of current and prospective donors from first contact through to committed partnership
- Design and deliver high-value donor engagement experiences — convenings, briefings, site visits, and one-on-one engagements that deepen commitment and open new giving
- Work closely with the CEO on major donor relationships — preparing briefings, co-leading strategic conversations, and following through on commitments
2. Philanthropic Advisory
Majurity's donors are not passive funders. They are philanthropic partners who want to give strategically — and who look to Majurity to help them do so. The Director, Advancement is the primary relationship holder for this advisory dimension.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Majurity's donor partners — helping them navigate Singapore's social sector, identify giving opportunities aligned with their values, and build philanthropic strategies with genuine impact
- Connect donors to the right programmes, funds, and grantee partners across Majurity's six Impact Verticals — ensuring that capital flows to where it will have the greatest effect
- Facilitate learning and peer exchange among Majurity's donor community — convenings, roundtables, and curated introductions that build a network of aligned philanthropists
- Provide honest counsel on where donor capital is best deployed — including redirecting giving when Majurity's programmes are not the right fit
3. Ecosystem Mapping & New Donor Development
Growing the giving pie requires continuously identifying and engaging new philanthropic capital. The Director, Advancement leads Majurity's efforts to expand its donor base and deepen Singapore's philanthropic landscape.
- Map Singapore's philanthropic landscape — family offices, HNWIs, corporate giving programmes, and institutional funders — identifying alignment with Majurity's mission and priorities
- Develop targeted outreach and engagement strategies for prospective donors — building relationships long before an ask is made
- Represent Majurity at philanthropic forums, family office events, and sector convenings — building Majurity's visibility and credibility among Singapore's giving community
- Stay current on global and regional philanthropic trends — bringing relevant insights back to Majurity's donor conversations and strategy
4. Impact Narrative & Donor Communications
Donors give more — and give better — when they understand the impact of their giving with clarity and conviction. The Director, Advancement ensures that Majurity's impact story is told compellingly and accurately.
- Work in close partnership with the our Impact Verticals and the Insights & Strategy pillar to translate programme outcomes into donor-relevant impact narratives
- Oversee the production of donor reports, impact updates, and stewardship communications — ensuring they are substantive, honest, and worth reading
- Develop and maintain Majurity's core advancement collateral — pitch decks, fund prospectuses, case for support materials — keeping them current and compelling
- Ensure that Majurity's public positioning — website, thought leadership, sector presence — supports donor confidence and organisational credibility
5. CEO Strategic Partnership
Advancement and mission must move together at Majurity. The Director, Advancement is a close partner to the CEO — ensuring that resource mobilisation is always in service of genuine impact, not the other way around.
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO on donor strategy, philanthropic positioning, and advancement priorities
- Contribute to board reporting on fundraising performance, pipeline, and donor engagement
- Represent Majurity at senior-level engagements when required by the CEO
- Flag tensions between donor expectations and organisational direction early — and help navigate them with integrity
