We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Specialist, KYC Operations - Quality Control to join our KYC/AML Operations team. This role is located in Singapore .
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Perform quality control reviews of KYC, CDD, and EDD cases for institutional clients across all lines of business in APAC.
- Review new client onboarding and periodic review cases in accordance with relevant regulatory obligations and internal policy standards.
- Assess ownership and control structures, source documentation, and other relevant client information, and validate the completeness and accuracy of analysis and documentation captured in case files.
- Review and analyze complex entity types including corporates, financial institutions, funds, trusts, special purpose vehicles, and other structures where applicable, and challenge case outcomes where information is incomplete, inconsistent, or does not meet required standards.
- Validate account activity reviews, including transaction analysis and behavioral assessments, to ensure unusual or potentially suspicious activity has been appropriately identified, documented, and escalated in line with AML requirements.
- Review due diligence and ongoing monitoring assessments for correspondent banking relationships, including evaluation of respondent institutions, services provided, and associated financial crime risks.
- Identify red flags, control gaps, and potential exposure to financial crime risks, including sanctions, money laundering, terrorist financing, bribery and corruption, fraud, tax evasion, and reputational concerns.
- Escalate higher-risk or complex cases, material quality issues, and thematic concerns to Compliance and senior stakeholders, as appropriate.
- Communicate quality control findings, documentation gaps, remediation requirements, and workflow-related issues clearly and effectively to internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with Front Office, Compliance, and partner teams to resolve case-related issues and promote consistent interpretation of KYC requirements and quality standards.
- Manage a portfolio of QC reviews effectively, ensuring reviews are completed accurately and within required timelines, while identifying recurring defects, thematic issues, and opportunities to improve workflow effectiveness.
- Maintain complete and well-organized QC documentation in line with internal standards and recordkeeping requirements.
- Support quality control and quality assurance activities, validation checks, sampling, calibration, and knowledge sharing across the team.
- Support the development and refinement of agentic workflows within KYC processes, ensuring outputs align with business requirements, quality standards, and control expectations.
- Analyze QC outcomes, connect information across process steps and stakeholder feedback, and identify gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities. Translate technical concepts and agentic workflow changes into clear, simple language, and propose practical enhancements to improve quality, usability, and operational effectiveness.
To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Business Administration, Economics, Banking & Finance, or a related field.
- 5 – 7 years of experience in the financial services industry, including at least 5 years of relevant experience in AML/KYC, Customer Due Diligence, onboarding, compliance, risk management, audit, or quality control, with a strong focus on KYC/AML.
- Experience in quality control, quality assurance, case review, testing, or sampling within KYC/AML operations is strongly preferred.
- Experience in correspondent banking due diligence and ongoing monitoring, including familiarity with global banking relationships and associated risk frameworks.
- Experience performing or reviewing account activity assessments, including transaction analysis, pattern recognition, and identification of suspicious activity.
- Good understanding of KYC/AML rules and regulations across relevant jurisdictions.
- Knowledge of financial crime typologies and red flags relevant to institutional clients, correspondent banking, and cross-border business activities.
- Familiarity with OFAC, FATCA, CRS, MiFID II, and banking or financial products is beneficial.
- Experience in workflow improvement, business analysis, process optimization, or AI / automation-enabled operations is advantageous.
- Experience conducting or reviewing KYC cases for institutional or corporate banking clients preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex KYC, quality, or technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and jurisdictions and engage confidently with both business and technology stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, Traditional and Simplified Chinese, including Mandarin proficiency, is strongly preferred to support the APAC client segments.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment, risk awareness, and the ability to identify gaps, challenge outputs constructively, and connect the dots across KYC requirements, workflow outputs, and business needs.
- Ability to assess outputs critically, identify root causes, and recommend practical changes that improve workflow quality and operational effectiveness.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
- Strong adaptability and flexibility, with the ability to adjust to evolving role requirements, shifting priorities, and a changing operating environment. Team-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
