About the role
We are seeking a GPO Business Improvement professional to join the Modern ERP team in Singapore. The purpose of this role is to deliver business-led improvements and successful SAP S/4HANA outcomes for the Move & Sell workstream within the Modern ERP programme.
The role focuses on executing approved global process designs, improving end-to-end Contract to Cash and Logistics processes, and ensuring high-quality, compliant delivery through the Realise and Deploy phases of the programme.
The organisation is modernising its Contract to Cash and Logistics processes, reorganising the way work is done, improving efficiency, and deploying best-of-suite and best-of-breed solutions across the value chain.
You will be responsible for delivering assigned project outcomes within the Move & Sell workstream during the Realise and Deploy phases of the Modern ERP programme. The role covers key end-to-end processes including contracts, pricing, invoicing, trade finance, intercompany, settlement, credit management, order processing, deliveries and shipment execution, inventory, shipping documentation, shipment costing, import/export logistics, and Transportation Management.
You will work as part of the Move & Sell GPO Fusion Team, consisting of the Workstream Lead, Process and Data Leads, Technology teams, and the appointed System Integrator, ensuring high-quality delivery while maintaining governance, compliance, and enterprise standards.
Project Delivery
Deliver assigned project activities and outcomes in support of the Modern ERP Move & Sell workstream commitments.
Own and lead the execution and quality of approved designs, working closely with the Move & Sell GPO Workstream Lead and GPO Process & Data Leads to ensure outcomes comply with agreed enterprise standards, design intent, and governance expectations.
Define and assure solution quality against business requirements by establishing clear definitions of ready and done, comprehensive acceptance criteria, and test cases. Proactively identify, raise, and drive the resolution of gaps in a timely manner to protect build, testing, and deployment outcomes.
Take end-to-end accountability for deliverables across S/4HANA implementation phases, governing and driving testing and data migration activities to meet defined quality, readiness, and deployment criteria.
Own assigned end-to-end integration outcomes, validating that global process designs are coherently realised across systems and processes by working with GPO Process & Data Leads, Solution and Data Architects, Technology, and Change specialists. Ensure alignment to the Modern ERP target state.
Apply delivery tools that support S/4HANA projects and platforms as required, such as Azure DevOps, SAP Cloud ALM, and Tricentis qTest. Familiarity with tools such as LeanIX will be advantageous.
Business Improvement
Lead continuous improvement with GPO Leads through the design, standardisation, and simplification of end-to-end Move & Sell business processes, in line with Fit-to-Standard principles.
Identify opportunities to improve business outcomes across the current delivery phase and future roadmap, applying structured improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, Safe Production System, and BPM.
Leverage process insight and mining tools, such as Signavio, to assess process performance, identify gaps, and support evidence-based decision making.
Act as an outside-in advisor to challenge detailed designs and delivery approaches, bringing external insights and leading practices to inform decisions, uplift solution quality, and maximise Modern ERP adoption.
Lead business cases in close consultation with GPO Leads within Move & Sell and other GPO workstreams for future phase requirements. This includes understanding and articulating SAP value pillars, strategic pillars, and value trees to quantify and demonstrate value. Monitor end-to-end submissions through the Modern ERP Design Authority and initiation process.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Work alongside GPO Process & Data Leads to deliver assigned responsibilities and activities.
Collaborate with key stakeholders, including business leaders, functional teams, IT, and the System Integrator, to gather requirements and ensure the solution aligns with business needs.
Act as a liaison between the GPO team and the technical SAP S/4HANA implementation team to translate business needs into functional specifications.
Reporting and Transaction Data
Collaborate with the Workstream and Programme Data team to ensure the Modern ERP data simplification strategy is executed successfully during the upgrade to S/4HANA.
Ensure the Modern ERP reporting capability minimises development and workaround requirements while meeting user needs.
Business Change and Readiness
Partner with GPO Leads, the Change and Readiness team, and the appointed System Integrator in developing training requirement artefacts for trainers and end users to support user adoption of the new S/4HANA solution.
Support the development of business readiness artefacts and documentation, such as SOPs and BCPs, to enable sustainable adoption and BAU transition.
Ensure a prompt feedback loop to support improvements to system readiness and adoption.
Project Oversight and Quality Assurance
Work closely with the PMO, Workstream Lead, and other Process Leads to ensure SAP S/4HANA implementation requirements are delivered on time.
Support project documentation and the development of Modern ERP functional design specifications.
Apply programme best practices, including clean core principles, by minimising customisations and ensuring system flexibility for future enhancements.
Monitor key project metrics and KPIs, ensuring process performance aligns with targets.
Risk Management
Identify and actively support the PMO and Workstream Lead in managing risks and issues related to process design, providing mitigation strategies where required.
Support the development of mitigation strategies for risks associated with process redesigns, data migration, and system integration.
What you will need for the role
To succeed in this role, you will have:
A university degree in either a technical or commercial discipline.
Preferably 8 to 14+ years of relevant experience.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex business processes and propose effective solutions.
Process, Data and System Experience
Extensive experience and knowledge of Contract to Cash processes within a mining company or similar organisational setting.
SAP S/4HANA Contract to Cash project experience is highly preferred.
Experience using SAP-originated data in the design of reports or dashboards on KPIs and metrics consumed by senior leaders, or involvement in reporting projects.
Prior experience working on projects that drive end-to-end standardisation, simplification, or implementation of new end-to-end processes is preferred. Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or equivalent exposure would be advantageous.
Experience in designing process-related internal controls would be beneficial.
Experience using one or more project tools such as Azure DevOps, SAP Cloud ALM, or Tricentis qTest.
Ability to lead the exploration and application of SAP AI within a Modern ERP environment.
Leadership
Proven track record in leading project teams, including both internal and external stakeholders, and fostering a strong team culture within a networked operating model.
Experience working in a global and cross-time-zone project environment is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to drive successful project outcomes.
SAP Expertise and Implementation Experience
Strong knowledge of ERP systems and their capabilities, specifically S/4HANA within Contract to Cash, is preferred.
Experience holding a key role in large implementation projects using methodologies such as Waterfall or Agile.
Relationship and Communication
Ability to build strong relationships with key users and project teams.
Experience providing effective communication on project activity updates, including timely escalations.
Experience influencing decisions and leading key stakeholder communications, as well as internal and external engagements, would be beneficial.
