Description for Intern Candidates
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Engineering and Automation Team to understand process requirements for automating manual cleaning of optics/lens using a robotic arm.
- Assist in the development and implementation of a robotic system (In-house automation) to replicate and standardize manual cleaning processes while ensuring consistency and quality.
- Support programming of robotic arm motion, including path planning, force control (if applicable), and repeatability for delicate optics handling.
- Conduct process trials to optimize cleaning parameters such as motion path, pressure, speed, and cleaning coverage.
- Perform testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of the robotic cleaning system to prevent damage and ensure process reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Process) to validate cleaning performance and meet quality standards.
Education & Experience
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechatronics, Robotics or related field.
- Exposure to robotics & automation projects is an advantage.
Skills
- Robotics & Motion Control:
- Understanding robotic arm kinematics, motion planning, and precision positioning, especially for delicate handling tasks.
- Programming & Automation:
- Familiarity with robot programming (e.g., Python, C/C++/C#.NET and automation/control systems.
- Mechanical & Process Understanding:
- Knowledge of mechanical fixtures, alignment, and handling of sensitive parts.
- Problem-Solving & Collaboration:
- Strong troubleshooting mindset, attention to detail, and ability to work in a cross-functional engineering environment.
