We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Middle Office Operations Delivery and Oversight Lead
The Middle Office Operations Delivery and Oversight Lead is accountable for the end-to-end delivery, oversight, and continuous improvement of Middle Office services provided to the Securities Services Operations (SSO) client base. The role ensures service quality across locations (including Global Service Centres), supports operational readiness and change delivery, and maintains strong risk and control discipline aligned to HSBC standards.
In this role you will
- Own end-to-end service delivery and oversight for Middle Office services to the SSO client base, ensuring consistent outcomes across site and GSCs supporting the site.
- Representing Middle Office in client governance, including on-site client reviews, service discussions, and issue resolution, ensuring clear communication and strong stakeholder confidence.
- Oversee downstream operational timeliness and completeness, including settlement, cash payments, derivatives processing, reconciliations, and exception management to meet market deadlines and SLAs.
- Provide (and where required, directly support) trade matching and settlement activities, ensuring trades are matched to broker confirmations and instructed to custodians within strict cut-offs.
- Lead client query management and service recovery, ensuring enquiries are resolved within agreed timelines with clear, concise commentary and supporting documentation for outstanding items.
- Support SLA/KPI performance management, partnering with Account Management to monitor service metrics, produce MI, identify trends, and drive corrective actions.
- Drive change, transformation, and client change requests, acting as a key co-ordinator between MSS Investment Operations and stakeholder project teams to progress the operating model, procedures, and workflow governance.
- Strengthen operational risk and control environment, including UAT participation for system changes, ongoing risk assessment, adherence to FIM/Group policies, and maintaining/updating procedural documentation.
To be successful you will need
- Significant Middle Office / Investment Operations experience (typically 10+ years) within an asset manager, custodian, broker, or outsourced operations provider, with strong understanding of post-trade lifecycle events.
- Strong product and market knowledge, including equities, fixed income, cash, and OTC derivatives, plus practical understanding of confirmation and settlement market practice.
- Proven service delivery and stakeholder management capability, including client-facing governance, issue management, and the ability to influence across multiple teams and locations.
- Change delivery and process improvement experience, including operating model design, procedure writing, transformation/offshoring exposure, and UAT support for new or upgraded systems.
- Systems and tooling familiarity (advantageous): Multifonds (incl. IABOR), HSBCNet, Calypso, Aladdin, Markit EDM, TradeFlow, CTM, SWIFT messaging/GETC, Bloomberg, Fiserv Tradeflow.
- Strong control mindset and communication skills, including disciplined adherence to policies/controls (e.g., FIM, AML/KYC as applicable), excellent prioritisation under pressure, and advanced Microsoft Office capability.
