Business Analyst (Trading)

Overview

Our client is a global financial services firm with a growing presence in Singapore. They are looking for a Technical Business Analyst to support their APAC business. This role sits between business users, clients, tech teams, and external vendors, with a focus on trading systems and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work with internal teams, clients, and vendors to understand business needs and translate them into clear system requirements.
  • Support trading system workflows across order management, order routing, market data, execution, settlement, reporting, data management, and integrations.
  • Assist with API and FIX-related integrations, including client setup, testing, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.
  • Document business requirements, workflows, process changes, and technical specifications for development teams.
  • Participate in system enhancement projects, including design discussions, testing, implementation support, and post-release validation.
  • Investigate system issues and client queries, working with relevant teams to identify root causes and drive resolution.
  • Support new client onboarding through data capture, system configuration, integration testing, and internal handover.
  • Create user guides, training materials, and process documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Manage small projects independently, including task tracking, progress updates, issue escalation, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in a business analyst, implementation, or trading systems support role within financial services.
  • Good understanding of securities trading, global markets, trading workflows, or post-trade processes.
  • Experience with trading systems, order management systems, market data, reporting tools, or system integrations.
  • Familiarity with APIs and FIX protocol, especially for client integrations, testing, or trading system connectivity.
  • Strong ability to gather requirements, document processes, and convert business needs into clear functional or technical specifications.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and communicate findings clearly.
  • Comfortable working with business users, external clients, technology teams, and third-party vendors.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with JIRA, Smartsheet, or similar project/task tracking tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong stakeholder management ability.
