Education required: Bachelor's D egree from an accredited college/university, preferably in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Electrical Engineering or Bio-pharma Engineering (or related)

Other requirements: Must be enrolled at a SG university for the duration of your internship and doing a full-time credit-bearing internship

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Internship period: January to June 2027

What will you do?

The Project and Facility Intern will support engineering projects, facilities operations, documentation, and continuous improvement activities to help ensure safe, compliant, and efficient site operations.

  • Support project engineering activities, including preparation and review of drawings, specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and technical documentation.

  • Assist in project coordination with internal stakeholders, contractors, vendors, and external parties to ensure smooth execution of assigned works.

  • Participate in site inspections, Gemba walks, and construction observations to monitor progress, quality, safety, and compliance requirements.

  • Support facilities operations by gathering and analysing user data, monitoring key service deliverables, and identifying opportunities for operational improvement.

  • Assist with contract reviews, shopping cart creation, purchase order follow-up, and other procurement-related activities for Facilities and Engineering works.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying improvement opportunities and supporting implementation of practical solutions.

  • Support change management activities and documentation for GMP and non-GMP facility or project improvement initiatives.

  • Prepare, organise , and maintain project and facilities documentation, including reports, as-built records, operation and maintenance manuals, and close-out packages.

  • Use visual management tools to provide clear updates on project, program, and improvement initiative status to relevant stakeholders.

  • Support commissioning, start-up, testing, handover, stakeholder communication, and other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

What will you learn?

You will have opportunities to learn the following:

  • Gain practical exposure to project engineering and facilities management within a biopharma manufacturing environment.

  • Understand how engineering projects are planned, coordinated, executed, monitored , and closed out safely and effectively.

  • Learn how safety, quality, GMP, EHS, and compliance requirements are applied in daily facility and project activities.

  • Develop skills in stakeholder coordination by working with engineering, facilities, operations, quality, procurement, contractors, and vendors.

  • Build capability in project documentation, including reports, drawings, schedules, as-built records, handover packages, and operation and maintenance documents.

  • Learn how data, user feedback, and service performance indicators are used to identify improvement opportunities and support decision-making.

  • Gain hands-on experience with procurement and contract administration processes, including purchase requisitions, purchase orders, vendor follow-up, and contract review support.

  • Develop communication, problem-solving, visual management, and continuous improvement skills to support effective project and facilities delivery.

  • Collaborative and communicative. Comfortable working with cross-functional teams, contractors, vendors, and stakeholders.

  • Adaptable and responsible. Able to manage different tasks, respond to changing priorities, and take ownership of assigned work.
