Roles and Responsibilities
- Commission products and solutions across a variety of subjects such as English Language and Humanities (but not limited to) as required.
- Achieve commissioning targets set in the publishing programme.
- Gather up-to-date information about developments in education and publishing.
- Plan and conduct market research to gather feedback on existing products as well as to identify markets for new products.
- Develop business cases (including budgets, projected sales and revenue) and proposals for new products and present them for approval.
- Lead contract negotiation and commission (identify, develop, and manage) authors.
- Evaluate manuscripts.
- Lead projects and team to ensure adherence to initial concept, quality standards, budgets and successfully delivery proposed publications and solution on time.
- Manage and ensure standards of development editing so as to deliver products that are competitive, and appealing to the market.
- Ensure implementation of set processes for development editing.
- Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales team for the promotion of products.
