Roles and Responsibilities

  • Commission products and solutions across a variety of subjects such as English Language and Humanities (but not limited to) as required.
  • Achieve commissioning targets set in the publishing programme.
  • Gather up-to-date information about developments in education and publishing.
  • Plan and conduct market research to gather feedback on existing products as well as to identify markets for new products.
  • Develop business cases (including budgets, projected sales and revenue) and proposals for new products and present them for approval.
  • Lead contract negotiation and commission (identify, develop, and manage) authors.
  • Evaluate manuscripts.
  • Lead projects and team to ensure adherence to initial concept, quality standards, budgets and successfully delivery proposed publications and solution on time.
  • Manage and ensure standards of development editing so as to deliver products that are competitive, and appealing to the market.
  • Ensure implementation of set processes for development editing.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Sales team for the promotion of products.
