About The Singapore Mint

The Singapore Mint is Singapore’s only coin minting company, specialising in the design, production and distribution of legal tender coins, commemorative coins, medals, medallions and collectibles that celebrate Singapore’s heritage and milestones.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Production Technician (Polishing) to join our Production team. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop specialised craftsmanship skills within a niche industry. Successful candidates will receive structured on-the-job training and may be considered for future development opportunities within other specialist functions such as Engraving and Colouring, based on performance, aptitude and business needs.

Job Responsibilities

Perform polishing, buffing and surface finishing of coins, medals, medallions and related products.

Conduct visual inspections to ensure products meet quality and finishing standards.

Identify and report surface imperfections, scratches or defects.

Handle products with care throughout the polishing process to maintain product quality.

Follow production procedures, work instructions and quality requirements.

Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping of workstations, tools and equipment.

Support daily production activities to meet operational and delivery schedules.

Adhere to workplace safety requirements and company policies.

Assist with other production-related duties as assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

NITEC, Higher NITEC, Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline.

Candidates from Precision Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Jewelry Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, Fine Arts, Metalwork or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Fresh graduates with relevant training, project work, internships or hands-on experience are welcome.

Candidates with exposure to polishing, finishing, metalworking, jewelry making, engraving, model making, restoration work or precision craftsmanship will have an advantage.

Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

Comfortable performing hands-on work involving polishing and surface finishing.

Patient, meticulous and quality conscious.

Willingness to learn specialized minting techniques and production processes.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.
