LECTURER, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - SCHOOL OF INFOCOMM TECHNOLOGY
NPO Ngee Ann Polytechnic
[What the role is]
This is a 2-year contract position as a Lecturer in the School of InfoComm Technology.
We are seeking a driven and versatile Lecturer to support the growth of full-time and part-time training. This role combines business development, learner and corporate outreach, and selected training delivery responsibilities.
The successful candidate will sit at the intersection of industry engagement, consultative selling, and education. You will engage corporate clients and learners, convert interest into enrolments, represent the institution through talks and masterclasses, and—where appropriate—facilitate short training sessions in digital and AI-related domains.
This role is well-suited for an individual who is equally comfortable engaging industry stakeholders, hosting large-scale learning events, and facilitating hands-on classroom or workshop sessions.
[What you will be working on]
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Business Development & Strategic Outreach
Identify, engage, and build relationships with external stakeholders to address upcoming or current workforce needs
Develop and execute outreach strategies to attract individual adult learners into ICT-related programmes.
Conduct consultative discussions with clients to understand skills gaps and propose appropriate training pathways or customised solutions.
Support cross-selling and bundling of relevant programmes to encourage repeat and sustained engagement.
2. Lead Management & Conversion
Manage incoming leads from multiple channels, including events, enquiries, referrals, and marketing campaigns.
Qualify leads and guide prospects through decision-making and enrolment processes.
Coordinate with academic, administrative, and marketing teams to respond to client requirements and close enrolments.
Maintain accurate records of lead status, follow-ups, and conversion outcomes, and contribute to basic reporting.
3. Brand Ambassadorship & Public Engagement
Represent the institution as a confident brand ambassador at industry events, briefings, graduation ceremonies, info sessions, and networking engagements.
Design and deliver engaging taster sessions, masterclasses, or webinars to generate interest in full-length programmes.
Support marketing and communications initiatives by contributing promotional content, talks, videos, and outreach materials.
4. Training & Academic Delivery
Lead in design, development and review curriculum, facilitate student learning, supervise projects, conduct assessments
Facilitate short courses, modular workshops, or masterclasses in areas such as Generative AI, Digital Transformation, or related ICT domains, as required.
Translate industry and client requirements into clear inputs for academic teams to support the development and refinement of industry-relevant curriculum.
5. Programme & Stakeholder Coordination
Support end-to-end coordination of corporate training engagements, from initial enquiry and agreement through to course delivery and post-course feedback.
Serve as a key liaison among corporate clients, academic teams, trainers, and internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth learner and client experience.
Interested candidates should note that the role involves weekend and evening support, with estimated frequency of twice a month on average.
In addition to the above, other ad hoc duties may also be assigned.
[What we are looking for]
Strong follow-up discipline, organisational skills, and ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently.
Confident communicator with strong presentation, public speaking, and facilitation capabilities.
Comfortable hosting events, delivering talks, and engaging audiences in both formal and informal settings.
Practical working knowledge of Generative AI tools and awareness of broader ICT domains such as Data, Cloud, or Cybersecurity.
Ability to translate business or industry needs into meaningful learning recommendations.
Prior experience delivering adult education, training, or professional workshops, and having ACTA / ACLP certification will be advantageous.
