Job Summary
As a Cost Estimator in Project & Development Services, you will support project success from tendering to completion across diverse sectors, managing multiple projects concurrently to deliver within budget and timelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare tender pricing and detailed cost estimations by sourcing quotations and conducting cost evaluations to support competitive bidding
- Develop high-level cost estimations and pre-tender estimates within short turnaround times to facilitate project planning
- Review and interpret tender documents, specifications, and drawings to accurately quantify materials and work scope
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, designers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to adjust and finalize cost estimates based on project changes
- Compile Bills of Quantity, tender documents, amendments, and submit tender bids to meet project requirements
- Negotiate prices with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective procurement outcomes
- Evaluate contract and subcontract works and perform contract administration tasks with clients and vendors to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Maintain cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures to track project expenditures and financial status
- Prepare and issue purchase orders and verify supplier invoices for timely and accurate payment processing
- Manage procurement processes using JLL’s cloud-based platform to streamline vendor engagement and purchasing
- Research and evaluate prospective suppliers to expand and maintain a qualified vendor pool aligned with JLL standards
- Onboard and pre-qualify vendors to ensure compliance with company requirements and enhance supplier diversity
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors to support project delivery
- Apply knowledge of interior fit-out works to enhance cost estimation accuracy and project outcomes
- Work effectively under pressure to meet tight deadlines and high expectations while maintaining quality standards
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support team and project objectives
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree or diploma in a relevant field and/or 1-2 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in an Interior Design firm, Design & Build, or Contractor firm
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to adapt to new technologies for efficient project management
- Strong communication and negotiation skills demonstrated through successful vendor and stakeholder interactions
- Analytical and strategic thinking skills applied to problem-solving and cost optimization
- High attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues promptly
