Research Manager

We are seeking a suitable and qualified candidate to fill our position of Research Manager. This position will report directly to the Head of Corporate Planning Department.

The incumbent will be responsible for research activities within the bank, including research on correlative industries, markets, customers, competitors and target companies mainly in APAC areas; and economic and political environment, industry and market trends. In addition to these, the incumbent will also conduct research on investor trends in APAC and propose business development strategies for the bank based on the rapidly growing investor business in the region. He/she will take the lead in preparing internal reports covering these matters in collaboration with not only within the Branch but also Research Department in Head Office in Japan to support marketing officers and other officers who manage branch business plan within the Branch.

The incumbent will also be responsible to establish a functional business network in APAC to procure necessary information efficiently and maintain active communication and collaboration with other relevant departments in Head Office to support the business strategies and plans of the Branch.

Applicants should possess a degree in Business Administration, Economics with about 8 years' experience in similar capacity in a corporate banking environment. The incumbent needs to be familiar and have a good understanding of the business culture and process of Japanese organizations. Native-level Japanese language ability, both spoken and written, will be essential for this role as there will be regular written and verbal communication with the Head Office, branches and representative offices. He/she must be highly analytical and resourceful and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Overseas travel may be required.

Remuneration will commensurate with qualifications and experience.
