Steel Engineer

Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage all structural steel works on-site, ensuring compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Review steel shop drawings, connection details, and fabrication drawings prior to submission and construction.
- Coordinate with structural consultants, steel fabricators, and subcontractors on technical matters and project requirements.
- Monitor fabrication, delivery, and installation of structural steel components.
- Ensure proper erection sequence, alignment, and bolting/welding works are carried out correctly.
- Conduct site inspections to verify steel installation quality, tolerances, and workmanship.
- Coordinate lifting activities related to steel installation in collaboration with the lifting team.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, codes, and Singapore regulatory requirements.
- Identify and resolve technical issues, discrepancies, and site constraints.
- Maintain proper documentation, including inspection records, method statements, and reports.
- Support project progress tracking and ensure timely completion of steel works.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in structural steel works for building and infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of steel structures, connections, fabrication, and erection methods.
- Familiar with shop drawing review, welding standards, and bolted connections.
- Understanding of Singapore codes and construction practices is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret structural and steel drawings accurately.
- Good coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Hands-on, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced site environment.
Working Location
- Initially based at the West office.
- Will be deployed full-time to the Bayfront site office upon project commencement.
