This role offers the opportunity to translate consumer insights into commercially successful products while working alongside experienced professionals in product development, licensing, marketing, and retail.
You will contribute to the development and growth of licensed product programmes across Singapore and regional markets, from identifying market opportunities to supporting product concepts and launch initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Market & Consumer Insights
- Conduct market research and analyze consumer trends across collectibles, toys, lifestyle products, gifts, and related categories.
- Monitor industry developments, popular culture trends, entertainment franchises, and emerging licensing opportunities.
- Study competitor products, pricing strategies, packaging formats, and consumer preferences.
- Prepare market intelligence reports, trend analyses, and presentation materials to support product decisions.
Product Development & Innovation
- Develop and propose product concepts based on existing licensed IP portfolios and business opportunities.
- Explore new product formats, packaging concepts, promotional mechanics, and collectible experiences.
- Support the evaluation of product ideas for market suitability, customer appeal, operational feasibility, and commercial viability.
- Contribute ideas for seasonal campaigns, limited editions, commemorative products, and special licensing programmes.
Product Enhancement & Portfolio Growth
- Review existing product portfolios to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Recommend improvements relating to product design, functionality, packaging, presentation, and customer experience.
- Benchmark products against market trends and competitor offerings.
- Identify opportunities to refresh, optimize, and expand product ranges.
Concept Development & Presentation
- Prepare professional concept decks, presentations, visual references, and product proposals.
- Support product visualization using presentation and design software such as PowerPoint, Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or equivalent tools.
- Present ideas clearly and effectively during internal reviews and stakeholder discussions.
Licensing Programme Management
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of licensing programmes.
- Maintain programme performance metrics and conduct analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare regular performance reports and recommendations for management review.
- Ensure product development activities align with licensing agreements, brand guidelines, and stakeholder expectations.
Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with licensors, designers, suppliers, sales teams, marketing teams, and internal stakeholders to deliver successful programmes.
- Coordinate across departments to ensure alignment on timelines, objectives, and commercial outcomes.
- Support the development of marketing and promotional initiatives for assigned licensing programmes.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and new business initiatives that contribute to organisational growth.
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to company policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, approval processes, and licensing requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records to support operational governance and audit requirements.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and best practices in product development and programme management.
Industry Engagement
- Stay informed of industry developments, licensing trends, consumer preferences, and emerging opportunities.
- Attend relevant trade fairs, exhibitions, conferences, networking events, and industry workshops where required.
Success Measures
Success in this role will be assessed through:
- Revenue and margin contribution from assigned licensing programmes.
- Commercial performance of new products and initiatives.
- Quality and timeliness of project delivery.
- Accuracy and effectiveness of programme performance tracking and reporting.
- Stakeholder collaboration and contribution to business growth initiatives.
- Compliance with licensing, governance, and documentation requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
We welcome candidates who can demonstrate a combination of the following:
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, Design, Communications, or a related discipline.
- Experience in product development, licensing, brand management, marketing, merchandising, retail, consumer products, or related fields will be advantageous.
- Strong interest in collectibles, licensed products, character brands, toys, entertainment, lifestyle products, or consumer trends.
- Ability to analyse market information and translate insights into business opportunities.
- Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Experience with presentation, design, or visualisation tools will be advantageous.
- Understanding of commercial principles, budgeting, product costing, licensing, or financial analysis will be beneficial.
