Senior Engineer

Bump Mask Design

• Perform bump mask design activities to meet customer requirements while ensuring all design outputs comply with UTAC's bump mask design guidelines, design rules, and process capabilities.
• Optimize bump mask layouts by considering electrical performance, manufacturability, process capability, yield, reliability, and overall product cost.
• Prepare accurate and complete bump mask design outputs in the required tooling format, ensuring all deliverables are reviewed and approved by authorized UTAC personnel and customers, where applicable.
• Maintain proper documentation, revision control, and traceability of all design outputs in accordance with UTAC's design verification procedures.

Develop Bump Mask Design Rules and Design FMEA

• Develop and maintain bump mask design rules and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) based on bumping process capabilities and manufacturing requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Process Engineering, Assembly Engineering, Product Engineering, and suppliers, to establish and continuously improve bump mask design guidelines that minimize manufacturing risks and enhance product quality and yield.
• Review and update design rules and DFMEA to support new technologies, process improvements, and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in bump mask design with a good understanding of semiconductor bumping processes.
• Proficient with AutoCad, with at least 3 years’ hands-on experience using ACAD for bump mask design.
• Knowledge of semiconductor IC packaging and assembly processes.
• Experience with Cadence APD/ Allegro or other PCB/ package substrate layout design software is an advantage.
• Familiarity with design verification, design documentation, and revision control processes.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving skills with excellent attention-to-detail skills.
• Good communication skills and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
