Role Overview

We are looking for an Assistant Manager, Business Development to manage SME member accounts, support strategic engagement, and drive membership retention and growth for one of our clients. The role focuses on strengthening industry collaboration, supporting programme delivery, and building strong partnerships within the advanced manufacturing ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of SME consortium member accounts and support engagement of strategic members.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, develop account plans, and maintain regular engagement to ensure strong member experience.
  • Assess account potential, support renewal discussions, and maintain documentation.
  • Organise and support workshops, member events, networking sessions, and engagement activities.
  • Track member participation across projects, activities, and contributions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify potential members aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Develop and maintain engagement dashboards, trackers, and reports to support decision-making.
  • Identify and implement improvements to account management and engagement processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

Must Have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related discipline.
  • Experience in business development, account management, customer success, partnership management, or membership engagement.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and relationship-building skills with strong attention to detail and organisational ability.
  • Proficiency in Excel and reporting tools, with ability to manage data tracking, dashboards, and basic automation (e.g., Excel Power Query, Power Automate).
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI.

Advantageous

  • Experience coordinating events, workshops, or stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, engineering, technology, research, or innovation environments.
