Sales Engineer – EV Charger Solutions
We are looking for a motivated EV Charger Sales Engineer to join our growing EV charger business. The candidate will be responsible for developing new sales opportunities, attending site visits, explaining EV charger solutions to customers, and providing basic technical support before and after installation.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Find new sales opportunities for EV charger installation through cold calls, referrals, networking, social media, and other business development activities.
2. Visit customer sites to check the location, parking area, electrical condition, and customer requirements before recommending a suitable EV charger solution.
3. Explain the EV charger products, charging process, installation steps, safety matters, warranty, and after-sales support to customers in a clear and simple way.
4. Learn and understand the company’s EV charger products, including AC chargers, DC chargers, charging cables, basic electrical requirements, charger apps, user operation, and common issues.
5. Prepare quotations, sales proposals, product presentations, and simple technical explanations for residential, commercial, and fleet customers.
6. Work closely with engineers, installers, suppliers, and the operations team to ensure each project runs smoothly from customer enquiry to installation and handover.
7. Follow up with customer enquiries, arrange site surveys, manage customer expectations, handle basic negotiations, and close sales.
8. Guide customers after installation by explaining how to use the EV charger, mobile app, RFID card, charging settings, safety features, and basic do’s and don’ts.
9. Provide basic technical support to customers, including simple troubleshooting for charger connection, app setup, charging status, power settings, and user operation issues.
10. Help prepare project documents, such as site visit reports, customer records, photos, quotation details, and handover documents.
Requirements
ITE or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business, Sales, or a related field.
Prior experience in sales, technical sales, engineering sales, EV charging, electrical works or related industries will be an advantage.
Candidates with no EV charger experience but with a strong willingness to learn are welcome to apply.
Basic understanding of electrical systems, EV chargers, or automotive technology will be an advantage.
Good communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers.
Customer-oriented, self-motivated, responsible, and able to work independently.
Able to attend site visits and communicate with customers, contractors, engineers, and internal teams.
Possess good follow-up skills and the ability to manage multiple customer enquiries at the same time.
Class 3 driving licence will be an advantage.
