About The Role
We are looking for a mission-driven and entrepreneurial
Business Development Manager to join our Commercial team. In this role, you will play a key part in identifying new growth opportunities, expanding Hegen's market presence, and building strategic partnerships that drive sustainable revenue and strengthen our brand. You will combine commercial acumen with strategic thinking and hands-on execution to develop meaningful relationships, unlock new business opportunities, and deliver measurable business impact.

Key Responsibilities
Business Strategy & Growth
- Develop and execute business development strategies to expand the company’s retail and distribution footprint locally.
- Identify new business opportunities, potential markets, and partnership models that align with the company’s growth objectives.
- Analyse market trends and consumer insights to inform strategic decisions and uncover growth opportunities.
Channel & Account Management
- Strengthen relationships with key retail and distribution partners to maximize sales performance and brand visibility.
- Negotiate commercial terms, trade agreements, and joint business plans with key accounts to achieve volume, margin, and profitability targets.
- Lead account planning, forecast accuracy, and promotional execution across channels.
New Market & Product Expansion
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute market-entry strategies for new products.
- Evaluate and onboard new distributors or retail partners in line with brand positioning and channel strategy.
- Support product listing, pricing, and merchandising strategies to optimize visibility and sell-through.
Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strategic partnerships with external stakeholders such as retail buyers and trade associations.
- Represent the brand in key business meetings, industry events, and trade shows.
- Provide market feedback to cross-functional teams to refine product and marketing strategies
Performance & Reporting
- Monitor sales performance, ROI, and business KPIs, translating insights into actionable growth plans.
- Prepare and present regular business reviews and performance reports to management.
- Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and speed-to-market.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing and/or relevant field
- At least 5 years’ of experience in a business development, partnerships or corporate sales function within consumer goods or FMCG industry
- Minimum 2 to 3 years of people management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a commercial team.
- Proven success in driving market expansion, establishing corporate partnerships and managing commercial negotiations
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management capabilities
- Entrepreneurial, creative and mission-driven, with the agility to thrive in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively across teams
